Wade A. Sarkis, CFP®, AIF®
Wade began his financial advisor career in 1987 and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner in March 1992, and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) in 2009. He is a Registered Representative (FINRA Series 7), is licensed agent for life, health, and accident insurance, and is an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®. Wade is also a FINRA Registered Securities Principal (FINRA Series 24). He is a graduate of Cornell University.
Wade lives in Canandaigua with his wife, Joscelyne, and they have three sons. He is a member of the Financial Services Institute and serves on several charitable organization boards in his community, including F.F. Thompson Foundation, Inc., and the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association. He is a past board member of Ontario ARC and was previously the coach of the Canandaigua Academy Ski Team.

Rusty Barone, CPA, MBA
Rusty joined Canandaigua Financial Group in 2001. He is a Registered Representative (FINRA Series 6 and 62 securities registrations); a licensed agent for life, health, and accident insurance; and an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®.
Rusty graduated with a BS in accounting from the University of Buffalo in 1990. He received his MBA in finance in 1993 and his CPA license in 1997. In 1998, he joined Barone, Siciliano & Co., which merged with Mengel Metzger Barr in 2015.
Rusty lives in Canandaigua with his wife, Laura, and four children. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and volunteers his time for various community service projects.
Wendy joined the team in 1997 and handles administrative, client service, and compliance duties for Canandaigua Financial Group. She is expert on all things Commonwealth and is our go-to problem solver! She has her associate’s degree in business administration from FLCC and previously worked in banking and a law office. Wendy lives in Clifton Springs with her husband, Ken.
Melissa Delforte, FPQP™
Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™
Melissa has been with Canandaigua Financial Group since 2008. She is licensed for securities trading (FINRA Series 7) and has her Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™ designation. Melissa maintains our client model portfolios, investment due diligence, and financial planning software. She has previously worked as a mutual fund accountant and bank trust officer, and has a BS in finance from Bryant University. Melissa lives in Canandaigua with her husband, Joe, and two sons.
Nathan Van Bortel
Nathan joined Canandaigua Financial Group in 2017. He has worked in the financial services industry for more than 10 years with an extensive banking background. Nathan is a Registered Representative (FINRA Series 7), is licensed agent for life, health, and accident insurance, and is an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®. He is a graduate of Keuka College with a BS degree in business administration.
Nathan lives in Victor with his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters. They enjoy spending time together as a family and traveling to explore new places. Nathan is a former Town Supervisor of the Town of Richmond and former vice president of the Honeoye Central School board.
